Techniques & Materials
My work combines traditional craftsmanship with contemporary processes. I use ancient techniques - carving wood with hand-tools and shaping leather over the surface - and modern tools - 3D design software and 3D printing. I bring the two together by scanning hand sculpted clay for my designs, and applying wax finishes derived from linseed oil, beeswax, and carnauba.
My design and manufacture aims at durability, responsiveness, and character to create a mask that feels alive when worn by a performer and observed by an audience.
